How Can We Help You?

Cleanings
Dental Cleaning Good oral hygiene is important, not only for looks, but for general health as well. Poor oral hygiene can lead to a variety of dental and medical problems such as gum disease, infection, bone loss, heart disease, strokes and more. Regular check ups and cleanings can prevent these problems as well as provide you with the good oral hygiene that you need as well.

Coming in for regular cleanings also saves you money and possibly pain, and it results in shorter appointments. Ironically, if you come in more often for regular cleanings, you will end up spending less time with your dentist in the long run, since you will have fewer problems and better overall health.

What you can expect during your cleaning

  • A normal cleaning in our office takes approximately one hour.
  • As part of the cleaning, you will receive X-rays, periodontal charting, a thourough cleaning, and an exam by the dentist
  • X-rays check for cavities, potential root canels, and proper bone support.
  • Periodontal charting is a screening for periodontal disease where we record gum health throughout your mouth. Done once a year or more as needed, this allows us to track improvements or identify problem areas that need more attention.
  • The dentist's exam thoroughly checks for cavities and problem areas, and includes oral-cancer screening and checking for TMJ (bite problems).
  • If you have sensitive teeth or have concerns about pain during cleanings, we have non-needle anesthetic as well as nitrous oxide gas available.
